Misha Cvijovic is a freelance composer and pianist currently engaged with her third degree in contemporary composition and orchestration. Her interest evolves around improvisation of harmonic and rhythmical structures that feed on impressionistic tradition, film music, polyrhythms and minimalism.
Misha has an inner necessity to express emotion in sound that escapes conceptual shackles to focus on the direct path between the intention and the musical result which is supported by great experience in various compositional and performative challenges. Her sophisticated intuition brought the members of the formation Disturbulence3 to produce music that initiates the timbral connection between piano and trumpet using electronic processing. The contrasts arising from present sound sources is exaggerated and obliterated to form a palette of expression and the complete lack thereof. The dynamics of her playing extend from miniaturism to minotaurism.
